I’ve led content strategy for Social Security’s primary workforce development program for disability beneficiaries. One of the biggest fears among people who receive disability benefits is attempting to return to work and failing, resulting in the loss of disability income and vital healthcare benefits.
With this in mind, I translated complex government benefits and support services for low income disability beneficiaries — emphasizing the program’s incentives and trial work periods that allow beneficiaries to keep their benefits as they transition to work.
In six months, my easy-to-understand content and visual content marketing strategy resulted in a 46 percent increase in traffic to the program’s disability employment blog.
